US History II World War II Scrapbooks BLDate_

PURPOSE: To understand the military campaigns, political decisions, and effort on the homefront that won World War II.

1. Students will be divided into groups of 4 or 5.
2. Each group will create a scrapbook dealing with one aspect of World War II.
3. Each group will be given various topics to research and will be expected to use the textbook and the Internet as sources.
4. Each group will divide the topics between members in order to be sure all are covered.
5. Using the Internet, students will find pictures, maps, graphs and/or charts, which will exemplify the topics to be covered.
6. Once the picture etc. is located, then a 1-2 page summary/description of the event, individual, or term is required.
7. Everyone will post their scrapbook entries to my wikispace on line.
8. Presentations of these scrapbooks will be made to the class.
9. All students will complete a note taking sheet.
10. Students must select 2 topics from each group’s presentation to write a reaction/refection about those topics which they feel are most interesting to them including their own group’s presentation of material. These must be one half page typed, double- spaced.
11. Citations are required for all pictures, maps, graphs and/or charts.
12. Parenthetical citations and a works cited utilizing proper MLA format is also required for each researched topic
